Build a Career Worth Showing Up For

We’re a Montana general contractor hiring people who take pride in building exceptional work. Join a team where craftsmanship, accountability, and long-term careers are built together.

Why Martel

A Stake in Every Build

Built on Safety

Safety isn’t a priority — it’s the foundation. Every jobsite, every day, we operate under a Zero Accident / Zero Injury philosophy that protects our crews, our partners, and the public.

Take Pride in the Work

We build projects that last, and we expect craftsmanship that reflects it. Doing it right the first time matters here — to the team, to the client, and to the people who’ll use what we build for decades.

Key Employee Ownership

Many of our leaders have a personal stake in our success, creating long-term accountability and keeping decisions close to the people doing the work.

Diverse Project Experience

From custom homes to healthcare, commercial, and public construction, you’ll gain experience across a wide range of projects without being limited to a single market.

Grow with Responsibility

Whether you’re in the field or the office, you’ll take on meaningful responsibility and have opportunities to grow alongside experienced builders who invest in your success.

Rooted in Montana

We live here, build here, and invest in the communities we call home. The schools, hospitals, businesses, and neighborhoods we build help shape Montana for generations.

Benefits

Built to Invest in Our People

Great careers are built with meaningful work, strong benefits, and opportunities to grow. We invest in the people who build Martel—and in the future they’re building for themselves and their families.

Health, Dental & Vision

Employer-paid family coverage — because the people on your crew aren’t the only ones counting on you.

Competitive Pay

Wages that reflect the skill of the work and the cost of living in the markets where we build.

Retirement & Long-Term Opportunity

Retirement benefits help you plan for the future, with opportunities for key employee ownership as your career and leadership responsibilities grow.

Steady, Year-Round Work

Montana’s seasons change, but our work doesn’t. Diverse markets and a strong project pipeline keep our teams building throughout the year.

Short Commutes, Real Communities

We hire locally and build regionally, so you spend less time on the road and more time where life happens—with your family and your community.

Growth & Training

Learn on the job, develop new skills, and take on greater responsibility as you grow. Whether you’re just getting started or advancing your career, there’s room to keep building here.

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I apply, and what happens after I apply?

Open positions are listed in the Open Positions section above. Click into a role to see the full description and apply directly through the application form. Once your application comes in, our hiring team reviews it against the role’s requirements and reaches out to candidates whose experience fits. If we’re a match, expect a phone or in-person conversation with the hiring manager — and a chance to ask your own questions before any offer.

Do you offer apprenticeships? How does the apprenticeship program work?

Yes. We invest in people who want to learn a trade the right way — pairing newer team members with experienced crews and foremen on real projects. You earn while you learn, build skills on the job, and take on more responsibility as you prove yourself. Reach out through any open field position to ask about current apprenticeship openings.

Where are you hiring?

We hire across our five Montana markets — Bozeman, Big Sky, Missoula, Kalispell, and the surrounding Flathead region. Roles are assigned regionally wherever possible, so you spend less time commuting and more time on the work.

What should I include in my application?

Tell us about your relevant experience, the trades or roles you’re strongest in, and any certifications or licenses you hold. For field positions, a solid work history and references go a long way. For office and management roles, include a resume. Don’t have a formal resume? Apply anyway — we’d rather hear from you.

Is the work year-round, or seasonal?

Most of our positions are year-round. Montana’s seasons shift the type of work, but with five markets and six project sectors, we keep crews busy through the calendar rather than laying off when the weather turns.

What’s your safety culture like?

Safety comes first, every day, on every jobsite. We operate under a Zero Accident / Zero Injury philosophy that’s planned into every project and reinforced by key employee ownership — because when the team has a stake in the outcome, everyone looks out for each other.
